Sunday we met up with our awesome couple, Heather and Jonathan, at Piedmont Park in the heart of Atlanta for their engagement shoot. It wasnt long ago that Heather contacted us about shooting their wedding, and at the time we did not know what a blessing it was going to be getting to know them!

It was a typical warm and steamy Atlanta summer day as we met up at the entrance to the park. This shoot started out with a bang and it just kept rolling as we followed these love birds. Their story is a true love story, having met some nine years ago at a Christian music festival, and finally met back up after drifting apart and out of touch for years. As Heather said, she knew Jonathan was the one long ago, it just took time for everything to finally fall into place.

We followed them around the nooks and crannies of the park, watching just how much in love these two are! We really enjoyed our time with them! Here are a few pictures from their session, and be sure to click here to watch their slideshow!

Heather and Jonathan, thank you for a great few hours together! We cant wait for your vintage-inspired wedding next month! We know its going to be a beautiful wedding and a great time!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had so many wonderful submissions for our contest that it was hard to choose the winners.  The nominations captured our hearts and the following families will receive a photo session and be featured on our website.  We look forward to meeting them and capturing the Love in their lives! Thank you to all that sent us nominations.

Here are our contest winners.  Stay tuned in the next few weeks as we unveil their session images.

The McCallum Family
Cheron nominated her family and the fact that her family opened not only hearts but their home touched us.  She says "Everyone in my home has given something of value to them to make everyone feel as comfortable and complete as they possibly can... Thats what family is all about...WE ALL "Capture the Love" on a daily basis, whether by ourselves or ALL together!"

Elisabeth Laskey
Danna nominated her 22 year old daughter who is working hard on her recovery and loves to pose for pictures.  This photo session "would put a smile on her beautiful face"

The Peavey Family
Melanie nominated her friend, Sarabeth Peavey, and her family.  "Sarabeth and James have had a year of challenges and trials, Sarabeth and family "capture the love," by focusing on joy, others, and love. Whenever any of her friends is struggling or has a need, she is the first to offer support.  What makes Sarabeth so inspiring is that despite her pain, her tiredness, and her struggles, she chooses to reach out rather than to lash out. She loves her family, she loves her friends, and she has her eyes open for strangers and acquaintances that need love.

Bob and Edie Johnson
Nicole says of her grandparents, "At 78 and 76 years of age they can still dance with the best of them, literally. People are amazed at their relationship after every hardship the two of them have faced.  I believe in my heart that my Grandparents deserve this opportunity because they love everyone unselfishly.  I have watched them literally give their last dime away so that no one has to do without.  They way they, kiss, talk, and still argue with the best of them is like something out of a novel.  I have many cousins who have admitted that they knew my Grandparents would be there even when their own father wasn’t.

Who knows, we may still have another 20 years with them but it would really mean a lot for them to have the opportunity to have professional portraits that showcase a love that many of us long to know."

The Smith Family
Jessica nominated her son, David who is a very special miracle to her.  "As a parent, you want your children to be like you. I want to be like David. I want to be friendly and positive and always wearing a smile. I want to be happy and playful even when I'm sick and don't feel good. I want to find the positive in the negative. I want to take the assets I have and do more with them than anyone expected."

The DeMerritt Family
Erica nominated her husband because he is an "awesome father, and I am so lucky to be married to him.  I am so happy that he is finally experiencing the unconditional love between a parent and child and the beauty of having a family. He had such an ambivalent relationship with his own parents it is incredible that he is such a loving and caring father. He is the perfect daddy-o and you can see this in every interaction he has with his two boys!"

We hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day and does something special for those that mean the most to them!

Ten Years Ago

these were the words on our wedding announcement....

A heart to laugh with,
A hand to hold
A new excitement,
Never old.

A fresh beginning from day to day
And simple pleasures along the way
A pleasant walk...
A favorite song...
A life worthwhile...

A special love flowing wild and free
And all the blessings a marriage can be.

It's hard to believe that 10 years has gone by, we've grown closer, older, wiser and unfortunately wider. We each came into the marriage from failed ones with 2 kids in tow, and then were joined shortly after by a little girl that melted all our hearts. We've weathered storms together and somehow we've survived and our love is stronger today than on that cold windy Sunday in 1997. Above is the "official" announcement portrait, there are a few that Mike took on our wedding day, but only one of us together. Below is a picture from this summer that Emma took.

To my dear husband, my knight and number one supporter and cheerleader... I love you now much more than I did when we got married. You have supported me in so much and put up with my quirks, health issues and "job" changes. I think I finally decided what I want to be when I grow up, but I am content in knowing that if it changes, you'll be there supporting me! Here's to the next 10 years! Oh yeah, By the way...

Because we are shooting a wedding tomorrow we are postponing our celebration. We want to hear from our blog readers how we should celebrate this milestone anniversary. The best suggestion will win a prize!!!! So add a comment telling us what you think would be a great celebration for us, we'll pick a winner on December 15th.

She Said Yes

Today was a very special day for a very special couple. Kevin has been planning on asking Bonnie to marry him for some time, and planned a very special moment to ask "Will You Marry Me?". The city of Acworth has this electronic sign on Main Street and he arranged for it to be programmed to help him propose this afternoon.

Kevin brought Bonnie to the sign to look at some landscaping.... and I am there to capture things as they unfold, paparazzi style. Looks like the fireworks tonight will be REALLY special for this couple!

To view the slideshow of the moments as they unfolded CLICK HERE

We knew they would be at the Fireworks tonight celebrating, so we surprised them there with the first showing of their slideshow which surprised and delighted Bonnie and Kevin, Kevin's parents, and friends.

Catherine & I can't wait for their wedding next April!

Congratulations Bonnie and Kevin!
This is Emma again.... On Father's Day we went to Red Top Mountain Park so I could take some pictures of Mom & Dad for their website. I got to use Mom's camera and be a PIT (Photographer in Training). We had lots of fun. I decided that I want to have my own camera and a photography blog too! I like taking pictures and have taken some good ones.

Mom helped me edit some of them to post here. This is my favorite even though they are kissing!

Here are some more of the pictures.

Enjoy!
Emma

A couple of weeks ago, we photographed Lane and Haley's beautiful wedding in Alabama (see post below). It was such a great wedding and we are thankful that we were able to be a part of their special day! Well, today we have finished their wedding slideshow and wanted to share it with you. Lane and Haley gave us so many beautiful and touching moments, we had a hard time picking favorites. So click here for the slideshow, sit back, and enjoy!

Last month we shot the engagement session for Lane and Haley. Saturday we shot their wedding at a beautiful family home surrounded by pastures, ponds, and trees. It was a warm but beautiful day, and the forecasted rain stayed away until after the reception was over. Haley had told us at their engagement session that she was going to be married in "flip flops", it was a life long dream! Well, sure enough, flip flops were the attire of choice on Saturday! Lane and Haley had decided not to see each other before the ceremony, so we had a lot of fun moving them around for pictures so as to not see each other. At one point, we snuck Haley out on the upper balcony while I asked Lane, yet again, to show me how they would be standing for the ceremony. Little did he know that Haley was standing just above him as he stood on the front steps to the porch where they would be married! Im sure he thought I was nuts asking him to show me again!

The ceremony was beautiful with many family members and friends attending. We really appreciate all the hospitality extended by Lane and Haley and their families, and feel priviledged to have been a part of their celebration of marriage! We have so many pictures to go through, but we wanted you to have a sneak-a-peak at some of the pictures! Stay tuned for the slideshow!
