This past Sunday we photographed the wedding of Rachel and Stan at the beautiful Flint Hill Plantation in Norcross, GA. The ceremony and reception were well attended by many family members and friends, and it was obvious of the awesome relationship that Stan and Rachel hold with all of them!

We started the day early, catching up with Rachel and all the girls at the Norcross Hilton where they began hair and makeup before heading for Flint Hill. The atmosphere was light hearted with much laughter, singing, and fun throughout the afternoon.

Stan sent Rachel a card before the wedding, with a love note and a gift certificate from their favorite Tattoo Shop.

While the girls were getting ready, I took a little break and found the guys at the Hampton Inn around the corner. The guys were hanging loose, relaxing, and watching TV while they waited for their time to get ready. They were still hanging out when I had to leave to meet up with Catherine who was with the girls as they headed for Flint Hill for final wedding preparations and pictures before the evening ceremony.

Rachel and the girls dressed in the Brides Room in the Inn that featured a great mirrored wall and vintage touches. Rachel looked stunning in her dress and beautiful lace jacket made by one of her bridesmaids.

After a few portraits it was time for the ceremony. Rachel and her father headed down the isle to "Rachel's Waltz" composed by her father.

Stan & his groomsmen hammed it up for us and made for some great pictures.

Rachel & the lovely bridesmaids, which included her sisters Emma, Hannah and Abigail who are as beautiful and fun as Rachel. (Catherine had such fun laughing with all of you)

Little Madison, Stan's neice, was so cute and was happy to pose for us a few times. This is one of my favorites.

Rachel & Stan had a beautiful cake, decorated in blue and chocolate.

The grooms cake was a wonderful chocolate tower adorned with berries. At the suggestion of the Wedding Director, the best man helped Stan cut it making for some fun.

The Garter! (we're not sure what Stan said to her, but it sure surprised her!)

Getting ready to throw the bouquet to the waiting single girls...

Stan & Rachel share quiet moment, in the wonderfully decorated reception tent, that looked like a modern lounge decorated in white.

You can just feel the love that these two share. It was so wonderful to watch them together.

Making their escape at the end of the night through a mess of bubbles

One last kiss for the crowd and then off in the night, finally being alone to savor their first night as a married couple.

Rachel & Stan, we hope that you enjoyed this little preview.
You can see more in the slideshow (click here to view). We look forward to hearing all about your honeymoon and showing you the rest of the images from your special day.
We recently photographed the wedding of Lourdes and Patrick at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marietta, GA. This couple and their family and friends were just awesome to hang out with for the day! We really appreciate them including us in their celebration of marriage! From the time they arrived at the church until the last guest had left, Lourdes and Patrick entertained and danced the night away before leaving on their special trip as husband and wife. We are glad to present their wedding day slideshow! Click here to see the show!

Lourdes and Patrick, thank you so much for the wonderful day! We hope you enjoy your slideshow and gallery!

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had so many wonderful submissions for our contest that it was hard to choose the winners.  The nominations captured our hearts and the following families will receive a photo session and be featured on our website.  We look forward to meeting them and capturing the Love in their lives! Thank you to all that sent us nominations.

Here are our contest winners.  Stay tuned in the next few weeks as we unveil their session images.

The McCallum Family
Cheron nominated her family and the fact that her family opened not only hearts but their home touched us.  She says "Everyone in my home has given something of value to them to make everyone feel as comfortable and complete as they possibly can... Thats what family is all about...WE ALL "Capture the Love" on a daily basis, whether by ourselves or ALL together!"

Elisabeth Laskey
Danna nominated her 22 year old daughter who is working hard on her recovery and loves to pose for pictures.  This photo session "would put a smile on her beautiful face"

The Peavey Family
Melanie nominated her friend, Sarabeth Peavey, and her family.  "Sarabeth and James have had a year of challenges and trials, Sarabeth and family "capture the love," by focusing on joy, others, and love. Whenever any of her friends is struggling or has a need, she is the first to offer support.  What makes Sarabeth so inspiring is that despite her pain, her tiredness, and her struggles, she chooses to reach out rather than to lash out. She loves her family, she loves her friends, and she has her eyes open for strangers and acquaintances that need love.

Bob and Edie Johnson
Nicole says of her grandparents, "At 78 and 76 years of age they can still dance with the best of them, literally. People are amazed at their relationship after every hardship the two of them have faced.  I believe in my heart that my Grandparents deserve this opportunity because they love everyone unselfishly.  I have watched them literally give their last dime away so that no one has to do without.  They way they, kiss, talk, and still argue with the best of them is like something out of a novel.  I have many cousins who have admitted that they knew my Grandparents would be there even when their own father wasn’t.

Who knows, we may still have another 20 years with them but it would really mean a lot for them to have the opportunity to have professional portraits that showcase a love that many of us long to know."

The Smith Family
Jessica nominated her son, David who is a very special miracle to her.  "As a parent, you want your children to be like you. I want to be like David. I want to be friendly and positive and always wearing a smile. I want to be happy and playful even when I'm sick and don't feel good. I want to find the positive in the negative. I want to take the assets I have and do more with them than anyone expected."

The DeMerritt Family
Erica nominated her husband because he is an "awesome father, and I am so lucky to be married to him.  I am so happy that he is finally experiencing the unconditional love between a parent and child and the beauty of having a family. He had such an ambivalent relationship with his own parents it is incredible that he is such a loving and caring father. He is the perfect daddy-o and you can see this in every interaction he has with his two boys!"

We hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day and does something special for those that mean the most to them!

You choose your favorite images in each group of images and it will give you another to choose. The images we entered are...

Please leave us comments on how you like these! Thanks!
We are in the process of testing out some portrait ideas and techniques and our kids are getting tired of "playing" with us.  So we are looking to find some fresh faces.

Do you know a deserving child or family in the Atlanta area that have great personalities and would make great subjects for our portraits?  If so, then nominate them to win a free session with us.

Images from these sessions will be used for studio samples, promotional materials and will be featured on our website.

To nominate a child or family, please tell us why you feel they would make great models for us and how they "Capture the Love" in their lives or those of others. We are looking for all ages so don't be afraid to nominate those that are "young at heart".

Submit your nomination via e-mail at info@inthemomentphotographs.com by February 13th and please include contact information for you and your nominee.

We will post the winning nominations on the blog on Valentines' Day and winners will receive a free session and 8x10 print in addition to a few surprises.

We look forward to reading your nominations!
