Baby Gabriel

Back in May, I had the opportunity to photograph Michelle and Ryan who were expecting thier first baby for my Bellies in Bloom project.

At Bellies in Bloom she won one of the doorprizes and excitedly choose ours out of all the prizes!

Baby Gabriel Ryan arrived on June 23, 2007 and has been a delight to them and their family.

I visited them last week for Gabriel's photo session.

He is a cute baby but was not the least bit interested in having his photograph taken.

Waiting on Lilly

My friend, Tracy and her husband are expecting and baby girl in the next few weeks. As a gift I will be helping them document the pregnancy and birth.

Tracy and I met through The Georgia Birth Network and she is a doula helping families bring new lives into the world.

This is a bittersweet time for Tracy and her family as baby Lilly has been diagnosed with Trisomy 18 and the doctors are not sure how she will be affected.

I am amazed at the strength that Tracy and Robert have and am excited to be there with them to document Lilly's arrival and whatever the Lord has in store for us.

Break a Leg...

In other words.... the best of luck to one of our young clients. Nicole is auditioning for the role of Wendy in Peter Pan next week and needed to update her headshots.

This talented young girl is the daughter of a fellow Girl Scout volunteer who I met at Daycamp this year. Nicole and I had fun chatting while taking her pictures at her home, especially since I got my start in theater and have helped costume Peter Pan!

Her cat Princess even joined us for a few images, but she was not so sure about the camera!

Importance of Family

Mike and I were honored to be asked to photograph the Savage-Taylor Family Reunion's Banquet. One of the organizers was Emma's teacher last yesr, Mr. Daryl Weathers.

This family reunion dinner was such fun, it was just part of the weekend's activities. The evening was part awards banquet, education and celebration and as every good family reunion included food, hugs and laughter. The message of the evening, "never ever give up on your dreams".

As we watched the evening unfold, we were very impressed by the love, togetherness, and sense of purpose this family exhibited.

She Said Yes

Today was a very special day for a very special couple. Kevin has been planning on asking Bonnie to marry him for some time, and planned a very special moment to ask "Will You Marry Me?". The city of Acworth has this electronic sign on Main Street and he arranged for it to be programmed to help him propose this afternoon.

Kevin brought Bonnie to the sign to look at some landscaping.... and I am there to capture things as they unfold, paparazzi style. Looks like the fireworks tonight will be REALLY special for this couple!

We knew they would be at the Fireworks tonight celebrating, so we surprised them there with the first showing of their slideshow which surprised and delighted Bonnie and Kevin, Kevin's parents, and friends.

Catherine & I can't wait for their wedding next April!

Mom's "Mini-Me" strikes again...

This is Emma again.... On Father's Day we went to Red Top Mountain Park so I could take some pictures of Mom & Dad for their website. I got to use Mom's camera and be a PIT (Photographer in Training). We had lots of fun. I decided that I want to have my own camera and a photography blog too! I like taking pictures and have taken some good ones.

Mom helped me edit some of them to post here. This is my favorite even though they are kissing!

Waiting on Baby Mackey...

I had the pleasure to meet Sara at Bellies in Bloom in May and am glad that she decided to have me photograph her maternity session.

She and her husband, John, are anxiously awaiting the birth of their first child any day! They have picked out an awesome name for the baby and I can't wait to hear when their little one arrives.

I had a great time with them and they are a fun couple, I know that their new addition will not be lacking in love or laughter. Here are a couple of images from the session. I know they are excited to see so I wanted to post them before I finished the slideshow.



Sara is a glowing mom to be! While they wait on baby they are practicing with this adorable baby monkey, so I had to get a picture for their album! Sara said they had not had a picture taken together since their honeymoon, so here is another for the mantle!






I wish I could remember the comment that caused the image below.... Maybe it is just the shock of knowing that he may never get to watch TV uninterrupted again! :)

Trash The Dress On Film...

We did not know this video had been finished until we found out tonight that it was circulating on YouTube! This was part of our trash the dress extravaganza weekend in the Savannah area. Diana and Davide of Diana Nash Photography were instrumental in orchestrating a number of details for the weekend and we would like to thank them again for all their hard work. While we were shooting the sessions, Davide was following us all around with a video camera, so check it out!

Trash The Dress Hits The Big Time!

The New York Times just ran a special selection on this phenomenon, read the article Is This Anyway To Treat Vera Wang? Follow the craziness of this art and fashion revolution at the website of fellow photographer Mark Eric's trashthedress.com. Mark has some great info on trashing the dress as well as pictures from around the world. Also featured on Good Morning America and ET Insider Event, the popularity of "trashing the dress" seems to be really catching hold as brides look for alternatives to a dress stuffed in a closet for all eternity. This craze is even spilling over to seniors and prom dresses with "Trash The Prom Dress" being the next in the ripple affect of wanting something different.
