Thursday night Cat & I had the pleasure of volunteering our time (and cameras) for Safe Girls Strong Girls at their Third Annual Gala and auction. The Gala was held at the elegant Villa Christina in Dunwoody.

Safe Girls, Strong Girls is a non-profit organization committed to breaking the silence of Childhood Sexual Abuse and to giving girls their voices back. Through Camp CADI, for one week the girls get to be girls again by providing a place for these girls who have been traumatized to heal. Founder, Amy Barth and Rachel, one of the counselors from a recent Camp CADI, both spoke to the Gala attendees about Camp and how it has helped the girls and themselves.

The event featured music from Audrey StClair who has an amazing voice as well as many other talents. I can't wait to get her new CD to enjoy while traveling to shoots this fall. During the time before the live auction, there were a pair of artists doing caricature drawings. They were fantastic and the attendees loved them.

The Master of Ceremonies for the night was local TV & Radio Personality, Tom Sullivan, who is currently the host of Atlanta and Company on 11 Alive. It was a pleasure meeting Tom, and he was a great choice to speak about Safe Girls Strong Girls and run the live auction.

Homecoming

This weekend was high school homecoming for our oldest son Eric. With the football game on Friday night and the homecoming dance on Saturday night, the weekend was full of scheduled activities. Saturday afternoon, the teenagers had planned a meeting for pictures at the gazebo, followed by dinner at Macaroni Grill, and then off to the dance. Eric was escorting his friend Dena for the dance, and boy were they dressed for the part! With flowers and smiles they were off for an evening of fun! Here are a few pictures as they prepared to begin their jam packed evening of homecoming fun!

Importance of Family

Mike and I were honored to be asked to photograph the Savage-Taylor Family Reunion's Banquet. One of the organizers was Emma's teacher last yesr, Mr. Daryl Weathers.

This family reunion dinner was such fun, it was just part of the weekend's activities. The evening was part awards banquet, education and celebration and as every good family reunion included food, hugs and laughter. The message of the evening, "never ever give up on your dreams".

As we watched the evening unfold, we were very impressed by the love, togetherness, and sense of purpose this family exhibited.

We put the images together in a slideshow that you can view HERE and following are a few of my favorite images.
